Has views of the famous Borromean Island of Isola Bella, the aristocratic Borromeo family’s Baroque style home. The Isola Madre is a peaceful garden island with peacocks and parrots who live freely among the tropical plants, trees and shrubs. Here you can see the largest Kashmir cypress in Europe which is 200 years old, and a collection of vintage dolls and puppets. Fishman’s Island offers a pretty medieval fisherman’s village to visit.
This village lies on the banks of Lake Maggiore, which over the years has become commercial centre. It’s a very pleasant town offering walks along the lakeside, ancient pedestrian squares and a chance to absorb the atmosphere.
It is the birthplace of St. Charles Borromeo, and has a dedicated statue to him, which is one of the largest statues in Europe (35mtrs tall) made of copper.
An elegant town which together with Intra form the two main residential areas in the municipality of Verbania. The lakefront is one of the most beautiful of Lake Maggiore, it offers a picturesque walk with the archipelago of the Borromean Islands on one side and colorful facades, porches, flower-filled balconies, terraces and coffee shops to the other.

Wonderful summer walks through tiny villages and mountain pastures, the Walser museum telling of the high altitude life-style of the Germanic people who settled here from Switzerland in the sixth century.
On the peak of Monte Rosa you will find the highest hotel in Europe, the Capanna Regina Margherita with 77 beds at 4,554 meters above sea level.
The starting point for mountain hikes, it is a charming mountain village 1,350 meters above sea level with a fine view of Monte Rosa, the cable car and chairlifts of Monte Moro (3,200 mt.), Punta Gniffetti (4, 560mt.) and Dufur (4,600 mt.)
The Formazza Valley opens into a vast upland surrounded and dominated by the impressive mountains.It is a rugged valley that gives rise to the spectacular Toce Waterfalls (with a fall of over 143 meters), there are trekking routes between verdant plains and mountain lakes offering breath taking views.
Along the route you can stop at the thermal baths of Premia, which are natural warm water springs from the source “Longia” at 44 degrees.
